Joey McGuire has taken his Texas Tech Red Raider football team over to the other side of the state to meet up with Willie Fritz and the Houston Cougars in the Bayou City.

While most folks are expecting the Red Raiders to remain unbeaten after meeting up with the Coogs in this game, it doesn’t look like one host of ESPN’s College GameDay has Texas Tech coming out on top of Saturday evening’s game.

Kirk Herbstreit, a longtime member of the Worldwide Leader in Sports, is going with Fritz and the Cougars to be able to upend Texas Tech tonight. While every other member of the College GameDay crew made the decision to go with the Red Raiders in this game, Herbstreit decided to be a little different in this case.

And of course, college football fans have some thoughts on that matter.

College football fans react as Kirk Herbstreit picks the Houston Cougars to beat the Texas Tech Red Raiders

Here’s what the picks look like for this game from the College GameDay crew:

Of course, some Texas Tech fans are happy with Herbstreit going in a different direction.

Then there are other Red Raider football fans who had other thoughts on the matter.

And Houston fans seem pretty enthusiastic about having the former Ohio State quarterback choose their team.

That said, it looks like some Houston fans might be a little mad that more of the College GameDay crew didn’t go with the Coogs.

More important than all of the picks, in my opinion, is this specific quote from former Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban. The legendary coach made it clear that the Red Raiders are getting overlooked and have been incredibly impressive.

This evening, when the Red Raiders face Houston, Texas Tech will once again have a chance to prove that it is among the best in the country (and also arguably the best in the Big 12).
