I, for one, tend to think that it's not a bad thing that the Texas Tech Red Raiders go out and beat teams by 13 runs. I, for one, would greatly appreciate it if the Red Raiders managed to (on a routine basis) go out and secure just absurdly impressive lopsided wins like they managed to do when facing off against Cal State Bakersfield.

If Texas Tech were capable of going out and doing able to do that on something of a routine basis, then it stands to reason that the Red Raiders would need someone to step up and truly have no issue thriving when facing any sort of opponent. When Texas Tech took on Cal State Bakersfield, that someone happened to be both Davis Rivers and Logan Hughes.

And I, for one, believe that’s a good thing. The duo was unstoppable as they combined for 10 RBI in Texas Tech’s win.

Texas Tech’s players of the game against Cal State Bakersfield were truly and incredibly dominant on Friday night

Against the Roadrunners, Davis Rivers managed to go 3-for-4 on Friday. With those three hits, Rivers managed to hit a couple of home runs, a double, and 5 RBI. For the season, Rivers has happened to secure a .529 batting average in the opportunities that he’s gotten to be on the field, which is truly encouraging. .

That, folks, is really impressive stuff from Texas Tech.

Combining that with what Logan Hughes has been producing is a great thing that the Red Raiders should probably consider trying to do that more often.

In his at bats, Hughes managed to go 2-for-3 and also drew a walk and scored three times. On top of that, Hughes also managed to secure 5 RBI. On the season now, Hughes is managing to hit .364 and has also drawn 11 walks on the season.
