While some teams from Texas may have struggled at times to get a win to start the 2025 college football season, Texas Tech is unbeaten and boasts a dominant win already. The Red Raiders had no issue getting a Week 1 win (though it definitely helped that the Texas Tech football team started the season with playing an FCS foe to get warmed up).

The Red Raiders steamrolled right over the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions. There wasn’t much of a fight put up here. Texas Tech seemingly had no issue scoring points by the dozen. And that was kind of expected.

What I didn’t know to expect was the way the Red Raiders’ defense would hold up so effectively against Arkansas-Pine Bluff’s offense. And it’s not that I expected the Golden Lions to have a great offense, it’s that the bar is so low for what a successful defense is for the Red Raiders that I just expected something bad to happen on that side of the ball.

Thankfully, that wasn’t the case.

And now we can relive the win again. We can look at how there were zero punts, an effective and explosive offense, and a defense that simply had no problems slowing down the Arkansas-Pine Bluff offense on a regular basis.

Shoutout to Texas Tech for making a highlight reel for us to enjoy week 1’s 67-7 win all over again.

The Red Raiders did so well in this game. They spread the ball around to numerous receivers, got multiple running backs involved in very meaningful ways, played a trio of quarterbacks in very effective manners, and had a blast moving up and down the field on offense.

On the defensive side of things, the Red Raiders smothered and buried everything that Arkansas-Pine Bluff wanted to do on offense. There just was no breathing room for the Golden Lions. They simply didn’t have opportunities to sustain drives.

And I’m glad we got to witness all of that (and also have a chance to relive it a bit thanks to the highlights that we can consume).
