The New York Jets need some help. As a franchise, they just perpetually seem to need some help. Time and time again, New York seems to be struggling and time and time again, the Jets pick up a talented player early in the NFL Draft.
This year, with the No. 2 pick overall, the New York Jets managed to pick Texas Tech’s very own David Bailey. And because it’s the Jets, there’s a ton of folks who will weigh in on this.
By the way, it’s worth noting that New York Jets fans seem to have a lot of feelings and opinions.
New York Jets fans have strong feeling after Texas Tech Red Raiders star David Bailey was picked No. 2 overall
And there are some STRONG opinions here.
I don’t want David Bailey

The clearest #2 pick in years was sitting there and we passed on him.
Jets continue to Jets. 😭😭😭
There are some New York Jets fans who aren’t thrilled about all of this.
I will ride with David Bailey until the wheels fall off

Welcome to the Jets big dawg
And then there are New York Jets fans who are over the moon about all of this.
I'm numb. I don't like this. https://t.co/MDdEKtM9IF

i have way less issues with the player as i do with the whole stupid process that the jets went through to get there. if he is just a jag or busts, then the cancelling of the top 30 visit is going to stain this front office’s legacy beyond repair https://t.co/RbdGyOaJiQ

get rid of everyone https://t.co/9FacEgWmWD

And then there are Jets fans who are really, truly, absolutely upset about all of this.
I genuinely can’t root for this team anymore https://t.co/41Iaj7gwSL

I mean, they’re not holding back. There are New York Jets fans who are just flat out beside themselves over this one.
Which just is what it is, to be completely frank.
I’m not sure there’s much that will truly unite (in a positive, constructive way) a fanbase that has been hurt as much as the New York Jets have. Time and time again, the Jets have found ways to let their fans down. And time and time again, New York fans have stuck with them.
Obviously Texas Tech fans have seen their fair share of frustrating seasons across a number of different sports in Lubbock. And it’s worth pointing out that Bailey was a key reason as to why the Red Raiders broke through this season. Now, there’s no guarantee that he will do the same for the Jets, but there’s no guarantee that he’s a bust the way some New York fans seem to think.
