Patrick Mahomes chugging brews before noon is the most Texas Tech thing ever

After his appearance on ESPN's College GameDay, Patrick Mahomes wasted no time making himself at home for his return to Texas Tech.

Patrick Mahomes is no stranger to the ways of the Red Raiders. After three years as Texas Tech's star quarterback, he hasn't skipped out on too many opportunities to return to the town that made him the player he is today.

When ESPN's College GameDay came to town for the No. 8 Texas Tech Red Raiders' matchup against the No. 7 BYU Cougars, it came as no surprise that Mahomes was named as the show's Celebrity Guest Picker.

After he made his choices, which were questionable at times, but he undeniably (and obviously) stuck with Tech, Mahomes didn't waste a second of time to make himself feel at home in Jones AT&T Stadium.

Patrick Mahomes hasn't forgotten his Lubbock roots

Before the clock struck noon in Lubbock, the camera panned to Mahomes in the stands, alongside his wife, Brittany, and the three-time Super Bowl Champion quarterback was already downing a beer.

While Mahomes isn't necessarily known for being a party animal, the guy still attended Texas Tech University, which has one of the biggest and best party scenes in the country. It should come as no surprise that the quarterback knows how to down a brew before noon, especially when his team is on a bye.

Just moments later, the Red Raiders scored the first touchdown of the day, to put Texas Tech up 10-0 over BYU, and the camera panned to Mahomes once again, and he was dancing right alongside the current players to celebrate.

Unlike when the cameras at Arrowhead Stadium pan to Taylor Swift, the crowd let go of a massive roar of celebration when the cameras panned to Mahomes in the stands.

Mahomes' love for Lubbock and Lubbock's love for him is undeniable. Especially after he donated $10 million to the team's NIL fund and an additional $5 million just to improve the end zone at the stadium he used (and still does) call home.
