With week one of the college football season in the books, there has been some shakeup in the projected rankings of the 12-team College Football Playoff. Though this weekend's slate of games provided no stirring upsets, there were some surprising results.

First of all, Oregon did itself no favors by beating FCS member Idaho just 24-14. Of course, Texas Tech fans won't laugh at that result given the Red Raiders' close call vs. Abilene Christian.

Meanwhile, Clemson falls out of our projections after putting up almost no fight against Georgia. In their 34-3 loss to the No. 1 team in the nation, the Tigers managed to rack up only 189 yards of total offense.

On the flip side of the equation, USC jumps into the projected rankings after pulling out a 27-20 win against No. 13 LSU. That's the type of victory that the Trojans needed to get back into the national conversation.

Notre Dame also helped its playoff cause by winning arguably its toughest test of the season. Taking down No. 20 Texas A&M 23-13 in College Station, the Fighting Irish proved that they are a title contender.

So with all of that in mind, let's look at our week two College Football Playoff projection.

The biggest individual winner this week may have been Miami. After dismantling rival Florida in Gainesville, the Hurricanes now have to be considered the favorites in the ACC, especially given their weak schedule.

USC is the only team that wasn't in last week's rankings to jump into the top 12 this week. In three weeks, they will face a stiff road test at Michigan which could really vault the Trojans into the upper echelon of the rankings.

This week, keep an eye on Texas' visit to Michigan, though. The winner of that game will find itself in the top 12 for certain.

Each week, we will update our projected rankings. So keep checking in to see what the playoff picture might look like.
