Shooting guard: Kevin Overton

At the shooting guard position, Tech will have options. McCasland could go with Kerwin Walton who started 26 games this past season or maybe even Chance McMillian who averaged 10.8 points per game off the bench in 2023-24.

However, the likely starter will be Kevin Overton, a transfer from Drake. Last season, as a true freshman, he averaged 11.3 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.

A 34.4% shooter from deep, he isn't the marksman that Walton or McMillian are. Thus, McCasland may decide to go with one of his veteran shooters to give his starting lineup some balance.

Still, Overton brings enough to the table to be a starter. At 6-foot-5, he would bring some much-needed size to the court and his ability to generate his own offense could be something the Red Raiders need at the shooting guard position.
