A way-too-early ranking of the top 10 Big 12 running backs ahead of 2024 season
It was always going to be tough to replace Deuce Vaugh in Manhattan, Kansas. Giddens did an admirable job of that last year with 1,226 yards and 10 TDs. He also caught 29 passes for 323 yards and three more scores.
As a junior, he had six 100-yard games including each of the last four games of the season. He also broke off 207 yards and four TDs against Central Florida on 30 carries.
Giddens runs bigger than his 6-foot-1, 200-pound frame suggests he should. He also averaged 5.5 yards per carry in 2023.
With dual-threat QB Avery Jonson set to run the show (no pun intended) this year, KSU could be dominant on the ground with Johnson and Giddens teaming up in the backfield. That would be on-brand for the Wildcats and it would make them a conference title contender yet again.
