Announcers for Texas Tech football vs. Washington State on FOX in week two
The Texas Tech football team is set to travel to the state of Washington for only the second time in program history when they face Washington State on Saturday night. Currently, Tech's only game in The Evergreen State came in 1982, a 10-3 loss to the Washington Huskies in Seattle.
The only two times Washington State and Texas Tech have met, the games were played in Lubbock. In 1963 the Red Raiders prevailed 16-7 and a year later, they beat the Cougars again 28-10.
As for this game, it will a crucial one for Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire as he looks to end his program's road woes. In two seasons at the helm in Lubbock, McGuire is just 3-8 in true road games.
What's more, McGuire has yet to win his first road game of the season at Tech. Last season his team fell in double-overtime at Wyoming, 35-33. The year prior, Tech fell 27-14 at No. 16 NC State in the first road game of McGuire's tenure.
Of course, optimism is not at an all-time high for Tech fans after last week's 52-51 overtime escape against FCS opponent Abilene Christian. What's more, the fact that the Cougars dismantled their week-one FCS opponent in week one, Portland State, 70-30 puts more fear into Red Raider fans.
The Red Raiders and the Cougars will kick off at 9 PM CST on FOX. So let's take a look at who will be on the call for this intriguing non-conference game.
