Last season, Cincinnati went just 1-8 in Big 12 games, good for last place in the league. This year won't be much better.

Road games at Texas Tech, UCF, Colorado, Iowa State, and Kansas State all look like probable losses in 2024. What's more, West Virginia and TCU will be tough home opponents for the Bearcats. On the other hand, visits from Houston and Arizona State could be winnable.

There is uncertainty at QB for head coach Scott Satterfield. 2023 starter Emory Jones is trying to make it in the NFL as an undrafted free agent leaving 2023 backup Brady Lichtenberg and incoming Indiana transfer Brendan Sorsby as the two options. Neither is an exciting choice.

To try to amp up his team's talent, Satterfield has hit the portal hard. He's brought in 19 transfers including players from Ohio State, Louisville, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. However, that won't be enough to turn his program into a contender in 2024 given how poor his talent base was to begin with.
