Another team with quarterback questions is BYU. That's not what any program wants coming off of a 5-7 season.
Former JUCO signee Jake Retzlaff and former Baylor QB Gerry Bohannan are battling it out for the starting job. However, neither has the potential to be an All-Big 12 performer in 2024. After all, Bohannan couldn't hold down the job at Baylor and Retzlaff was 0-4 as a starter last fall.
This year, the schedule isn't kind for the Cougars. Conference title contenders Arizona, Oklahoma State, Kansas State, Kansas, and Utah are all on the docket this season.
Last season, the Cougars lost five games by 11 points or more. That's a bad sign for this season because it shows how far the program needs to go in just one offseason to be competetive.
