One season after its stunning run to the National Championship Game, TCU sputtered in 2023. Going 5-7 took quite a bit of shine off of Sonny Dykes and his program.

TCU went heavy on portal additions in 2023 and that strategy didn't yield results. This year, they are doing the same with 20 transfer additions. It is fair to question whether that plan will work out in the Frogs' favor this time around.

The key for TCU will be the development of QB Josh Hoover. Last year, he showed talent but he had nine picks to just 15 TDs and he completed only 62 percent of his passes.

On defense, the Frogs are banking on former Boise State DC Andy Avalos to fix a unit that struggled mightily in 2023. He has quite a bit of work to do to rectify a unit that was only 70th nationally in sacks and 100th in interceptions per game.
