With the Big 12 Tournament field now set, fans are starting to fill out brackets and get ready for the madness of March to begin. Of course, this promises to be one of the most intriguing Big 12 Tournaments in years given the new 14-team format and the strength of the league.

In previous years, when there were only ten teams in the conference, the Big 12 gave the top six teams a bye to the second round. This year, that format has changed dramatically.

Now, ten teams receive a bye to the second round, and four teams, including No. 4 seed Texas Tech, get a bye to the quarterfinals, which will be played on Thursday. That means that for a Cinderella team to steal a bid to the NCAA Tournament by winning the Big 12 Tournament, it will likely have to win five games in five days. That's a tall task.

Right now, Texas Tech is sitting in a great spot through the quarterfinals. They will play either No. 5 seed BYU, No. 12 seed UCF, or No. 13 seed Oklahoma State on Thursday at 11:30 am CST. Among those three teams, Tech was 4-1 this season.

However, after that, it is likely that Tech will have to tangle with the No. 1 seed in the conference and the No. 1 team in the nation, Houston in the semifinals. That won't be an easy game to win by any means. Of course, Houston could fall to either No. 9 seed OU or No. 8 seed TCU in the quarterfinals. Don't forget that TCU did manage to secure a win over the Cougars in Fort Worth earlier this year.

So now that we have a full tournament bracket set, here is a look at the official schedule for the 2024 Big 12 Tournament. Of course, all games will be played in Kansas City, Missouri.
