Texas Tech needs to take down TCU in Lubbock

Some games are all about pride. That's what will be on the line when TCU comes to Lubbock on February 20.

Unfortunately, the Fogs have had Tech's numbers as of late. They have won the last four games in the series and five of the last eight dating back to 2019-2020.

Texas Tech fans hate losing to TCU in anything. Plus, the Horned Frogs are just easy to hate given head coach Jamie Dixon's demeanor and the way the athletic department has acted toward Tech in recent years by sending out snarky social media posts about Lubbock being a desert and by singling out Tech to prevent Red Raider fans from getting tickets to TCU sporting events. Thus, the U.S.A. crowd should be at a fevered pitch when this game rolls around.

Of course, TCU is also a really good team this year. Picking up a win over them would be an important Quad-1 win and it would prevent the Frogs from having the tiebreaker over Tech should the two teams wind up with equal records in Big 12 play at the end of the regular season.

The Frogs are a tough matchup for Tech, though. Their rebounding and length give the smaller Red Raiders problems. Thus, beating them in Lubbock would be a great sign of improvement for McCasland's team after falling in Fort Worth on Tuesday night.
