Texas Tech gives us a look at how the offensive line might shake out

Don't overlook the importance of the offensive line depth chart. That's the area of greatest concern heading into 2024 so it is worth examining how that group stands as we enter the summer.

One surprise is that Memphis transfer Davion Carter isn't listed as a starter. Instead, he's the second-team right guard behind senior Caleb Rogers, a player who is moving to guard this season after spending the last three years starting at either right or left tackle.

The other guard spot belongs to Vinnie Sciury at the moment. A transfer from Toledo, he sits ahead of Dylan Shaw and Nick Fattig.

At center, there is no surprise to those who paid attention during the spring. Sheridan Wilson, a sophomore, was one of the surprises of the spring and he appears to have taken the starting center job and not let go.

The tackles will both be new starters if things remain the same with Middle Tennessee transfer Sterling Porcher manning the left tackle spot and junior Ty Buchanan listed as the starter at right tackle. Porcher was a starter last season for Middle Tennessee but Buchanan has never been a starter at the college level. How that duo performs in the Big 12 will be critical to the Red Raiders' success in 2024.
