As the summer heats up, so is Joey McGuire. In the midst of a slew of official visits, the Texas Tech football head coach has added yet another important piece to his 2025 recruiting class.
Saturday, Ada, Oklahoma defensive back Deante Lindsay announced via social media his intention to play for McGuire's Red Raiders. This makes the third recruit to commit to the Red Raiders in the past week.
Rated a 3-star prospect by 247Sports.com, the 6-foot-1, 165-pounder is the No. 96 corner in the nation and No. 21 player in Oklahoma. In addition to Texas Tech, he has offers from Utah, Boston College, Boston College, UNLV, Tulsa, and others.
A multi-sport star in high school, he is a two-way player who amassed 51 tackles and five interceptions as a corner and caught 36 passes for 859 yards and 13 touchdowns as a receiver. He also averaged 36.4 yards on his five kickoff returns as a junior. However, it will be the defensive side of the ball that he calls home in Lubbock.
This is the 16th high school commit for the Red Raiders in the class of 2025. Thus far, that class is ranked 19th nationally by 247Sports.
