After a ten-year absence, EA Sports' wildly successful college football video game will be releasing its newest version in just a few days. To increase the anticipation of the game's debut, the top 100 players according to overall ranking have been released and Texas Tech running back Tahj Brooks is solidly among that group.

In fact, with an overall player ranking of 92, Brooks is the 36th-best player in the video game. Unfortunately, he's the only Red Raider in the top 100.

It is no surprise to see Brooks listed among the best players in the game. Last season, he ran for over 1,500 yards while finding the endzone ten times to earn All-Big 12 honors.

Now, he's back to spearhead the Texas Tech offense. What's more, he's less than 1,200 yards shy of breaking the school's all-time record for career rushing yards.

The Big 12 is well-represented on the top-100 list. 15 players from the conference are among that group.

Interestingly, Brooks isn't the top running back from the Big 12, though. Rather, that distinction belongs to Oklahoma State's Ollie Gordon II. With an overall score of 96, he is the third-best player in the game and the top player from the Big 12.

Other Big 12 players in the top 25 include Colorado wide receiver and defensive back Travis Hunter (No. 6 overall), Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan (No. 14 overall), and Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders (No. 17 overall).

Hopefully, by the time next year's game is released, such Red Raiders as QB Behren Morton and wide receiver Micah Hudson will be in the top 100. That would mean that each had excellent 2024 campaigns.

But for now, the best Red Raider and the only member of the top 100 is Tahj Brooks. EA Sports College Football 2025 will be released to the public on July 19 at which time gamers can run wild against opposing defenses with Brooks as their star running back just as the Red Raiders plan to do in real life this fall.
