Texas Tech football landed another commitment on the recruiting trail for 2025. Monday, Marcus Flower Mound inside linebacker Brock Golwas announced his commitment to the Red Raiders. Golwas is now the program's eighth commitment for the class of 2025.

Golwas using a younger picture of himself in his commitment announcement rocking Texas Tech gear should get fans fired up. He first attended a football camp at the school in June this past summer. In November Golwas received an offer after a conversation with director of player personnel, James Blanchard and associate head coach Kenny Perry.

After the offer, Golwas attended the UCF game which saw the Red Raiders secure bowl eligibility. Just this past weekend the program held their junior day which included visits from several recruits. Golwas was there and seemed to enjoy his visit much like the rest of the kids.

His visit ultimately led to his decision on Monday night to commit to Joey McGuire and the Red Raiders. Golwas now joins a class that is ranked 27th overall according to 247 Sports. The class currently has five three-star recruits including quarterback Lloyd Jones of Hitchcock and Stephenville receiver Tristan Gentry. With Golwas' commitment the class has their first linebacker.

While his size at 6-1, 215 might not be super eye-catching, Golwas looks like the prototypical hybrid linebacker/safety Tim DeRuyter is looking for. His build is similar to Jacob Rodriguez and Ben Roberts, two of Tech's most important defensive players heading into 2024.

Golwas chose to commit to the Red Raiders over Army, his only other current offer. Entering his senior year Golwas should be expected to take more visits to Tech as well as other schools. Fans should expect to see him on the sidelines multiple times this upcoming season.

Other junior day visitors from this past weekend included Houston Second Baptist offensive tackle R.J. Lee and El Paso Del Valle athlete Shelton Fuller. With the success McGuire and his staff have already shown on the recruiting trail, more commitments could come from this junior day. The 2024 class included one five-star and four four-star signees. Who is to say the next class will not be better?
