Texas Tech and Joey McGuire are racking up the commitments in the class of 2025. After securing a pledge from 3-star defensive back Swayde Griffin, a move that was announced by the player on Monday morning, Monday afternoon, another target who visited Lubbock this past weekend, wide receiver Bryson Jones, also announced his pledge to be a Red Raider.

Jones is rated as a four-star composite recruit by 247Sports. He's rated the No. 58 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 60 player in the state of Texas. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound playmaker also had offers from Texas A&M, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Baylor, and others.

This past season, Jones caught 64 passes for 1,092 yards and 15 touchdowns. Now, he joins a rather impressive wide receiver haul for the Red Raiders.

Already, Tech has a commitment from 4-star wide receiver Tristan Gentry of Stephenville, Texas. He is listed as the No. 30 wide receiver in the class of 2025.

Tech also has commitments from wide receivers Lleyton Stone from Frienship High School and Isaiah Robertson from Arlington, Texas. Each of those players is listed as a 3-star prospect.

It will be important for Tech to develop some young pass catchers because, in upcoming seasons, some key members of the receiving corps will be moving on. This year, Tech will rely heavily on Washington State transfer Josh Kelly but he has only one season of eligibility remaining.

Also set to exhaust his eligibility after the upcoming season is Drae McCray, a speedy inside wide receiver who could have an increased role in the offense with the departure of Myles Price who transferred to Indiana after last season. What's more, Florida transfer Caleb Douglas, a threat to earn a starting position on the outside this fall, is a junior meaning that he will be gone after next season.

Texas Tech now has the No. 19 overall recruiting class in the nation according to 247Sports. There are 14 players committed to the Red Raiders for 2025 eight of which play offense.
