Texas Tech picks up commitment from out-of-state 2025 offensive lineman
In the world of college football, everyone is always looking for talent along the offensive line. Texas Tech is no different.
This weekend, the Red Raiders took a nice step in that pursuit by landing Garin Maley, a class of 2025 offensive lineman from Papillion, Nebraska. He's the second offensive lineman in the past week to commit to the Red Raiders in the current recruiting cycle.
Listed as a 6-foot-5, 250-pounder, Maley is a 3-star prospect according to 247Sports.com. That site has him rated the No. 134 offensive tackle in his class and the No. 11 player in Nebraska.
In addition to Texas Tech, Maley has offers from the likes of Oregon State, Princeton, Harvard, Eastern Michigan, Montana, Yale, and others. He was on campus this past weekend in Lubbock for an official visit and now, he's set to become a Red Raider.
According to 247Sports, Maley is a two-way player on the football field posting 20 tackles, 6.5 TFL, and 4.5 sacks as a defensive lineman in 2023. What's more, he throws the shotput for his high school track program.
Recent defections have dropped the 2025 Texas Tech recruiting class to No. 33 nationally. Maley now makes 14 players in the Red Raider recruiting haul. Of that group, he's the lowest-rated prospect, which reveals the quality and depth of the class.
What's more, the class is almost certain to expand in the upcoming days. Recently, Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire has shared his .GIF of former professional wrestler Rick Flair, (which he shares when he receives a verbal commitment) seven times indicating that an avalanche of recruiting news could be inbound. So keep checking in with Wreck 'em Red for all the latest.
