Texas Tech soccer defeats Kansas State

Thursday night, the Texas Tech soccer team got goals from Peyton Annen and Kaitlyn Giametta to secure a 2-1 win road win over Kansas State. Tech moves to 8-2-1 on the season and 3-0-1 in Big 12 play.

The game was scoreless until the 25th minute when Annen found the back of the goal after a deflected corner kick. However, the lead lasted only briefly as KSU would tie the game 14 minutes later.

Fortunately, Giametta had the answer just 57 seconds later. Scoring her fourth goal of the year, she slammed home a loose ball for the game-winning goal.

Tech is now unbeaten in 21 consecutive Big 12 games. The Red Raiders return to the pitch on Sunday afternoon in Houston as they take on the University of Houston Cougars.

Texas Tech basketball loses recruiting battle to in-state program

Wednesday, Jaden Toombs picked SMU over Texas Tech in an important recruiting battle for both programs. This is a player that the Red Raiders had targeted for at least two years so to miss out on Toombs' services is disappointing.

The native of Dallas, Texas is rated by 247Sports.com's composite rankings as the No. 44 overall player and No. 6 center in the nation. He also holds offers from the likes of Alabama, Miami, Creighton, Vanderbilt, LSU, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State.

Texas Tech Lady Raiders basketball team announces 2024-25 Big 12 slate

Thursday, the Texas Tech lady Raiders released their 2024-25 Big 12 schedule. It includes 18 games with nine at home and nine on the road. What's more, the Lady Raiders will face five Big 12 opponents for the first time.

Big 12 play begins on Sunday, December 22 with a home game against Houston. The regular season then concludes on Saturday, March 1with a home game against Colorado.

The Lady Raiders will be looking to improve on last year's Big 12 record, which was just 5-13 overall. That included a mark of just 4-5 in conference home games.

Texas Tech women's golf wins Red Raider Invitational

Wednesday, the Texas Tech women's golf team defended its home turf by winning the Red Raider Invitational team title. Tech shot an 8-under-par 856 in the 54-hole tournament to sit atop the 16-team field.

Klara Hurtova led the way by shooting a 5-under 67 in the final round to match the best single round of her career. She finished second in the individual competition for the tournament trailing Kent State's Veronika Kedronová by one stroke.

The Red Raiders next tee off October 7-8 at the Women's Invitational at Medinah, hosted by Illinois.

Texas Tech basketball adds transfer forward from Air Force

This week it was revealed that the Texas Tech basketball program has added to the roster Corbin Green, a transfer forward from Air Force. He enrolled at Tech in September after two years with the Falcons and is now officially part of the Red Raider roster.

In his college career, Green has averaged 5.2 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. Now, he has two years of eligibility remaining.

As a freshman, the Midlothian, Texas native made 12 starts and played in 24 games for the Falcons – averaging 6.5 points and finishing with 34 blocks which ranked fourth in the Mountain West Conference. But as a sophomore, he averaged only 2.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks in 12 games played.
