Smith Orogbo - DL

Always in search of talent on the defensive line, the Texas Tech football program is after a big fish in Smith Orogbo from Houston, Texas. Hopefully, he enjoys his upcoming visit to Lubbock because he is the type of player that this program needs to add to the mix in every recruiting cycle.

Rated by 247Sports.com's composite rankings as a high 4-star prospect, he's listed as the No. 116 overall player in America and the No. 22 player in Texas. What's more, he's the No. 16 defensive lineman in his class.

Another player set to visit the South Plains June 7-9 according to 247Sports, he would be the best player in Tech's class should he commit to the good guys. That would make him the third defensive player since the class of 2022 to be Tech's highest-rated high school recruit in a class, something that for years was a rarity for this program.

At 6-foot-4, 220 pounds, Orogbo projects as a defensive end or edge/rush linebacker at the next level. That's a position Tech always needs to address on the recruiting trail.

In addition to the Red Raiders, Orogbo has offers from the likes of Oklahoma, Texas, Washington, Arkansas, Arizona State, Baylor, Florida, Miami, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, TCU, A&M, Southern Cal, and a slew of other programs. Already having visited SMU, Washington, and Missouri, he's also supposed to visit Kansas, Texas, and Oklahoma this month according to 247Sports.
