Micah Strickland - DB

Quality defensive backs are like gold in the modern era of the sport given how prevalent the spread offense is. Tech has a young and talented group of DBs already on campus but adding to those ranks each recruiting cycle is a must.

A name to keep an eye on is Micah Strickland from Brownsboro, Texas. He's also set to visit Lubbock from June 7-9 according to 247Sports.com.

At 6 feet, 175 pounds, Strickland has nice size for a defensive back. He's listed by the 247Sports composite rankings as a 4-star prospect and the No. 133 player in the country. Additionally, he is the No. 15 corner in America and the No. 23 player in Texas.

In addition to Tech, Strickland is considering offers from such programs as Baylor, Houston, TCU, Nebraska, Oregon State, UTSA, and others. He has reportedly already taken a visit to Baylor and will visit Houston and TCU later this month.

These are just three of the many high school prospects who will come to the South Plains this weekend looking to find out if Texas Tech is the right fit. Hopefully, they decide that they want to be Red Raiders because each would be a huge boost to the program's 2025 recruiting class.
