The toughest team to predict in the Big 12 might be BYU. After losing rising star head coach Mark Pope to his alma mater, Kentucky, will the Cougars manage to find a way to sustain their upward momentum as a program under Kevin Young?
Leading scorer Jaxon Robinson is in the portal. The same is true for the important big man Aly Khalifa. But because Young had to finish out his season as an NBA assistant before taking over full-time in Provo, the program has not added any talent yet.
It seems like Pope's departure could stunt what BYU was building on the court. Look for the transition year in Provo to be a bit of a slog for the Cougars.
