While his career at Texas Tech really only featured a half-dozen games, Skyler Gill-Howard still put together a rather impressive highlight reel that Texas Tech Red Raider football fans absolutely need to see. Of course, it’d also be a good thing if NFL scouts saw it. And, well, just college football fans in general.
Because even though his season was cut short due to a season-ending injury issue, Gill-Howard managed to make a significant impact in the limited action that he played. And when you factor in that he transferred from Northern Illinois and had such an impact in the Big 12, there’s a lot to be impressed with here.

Here’s the hihglight reel that you (and your friends and your family and NFL scouts and your coworkers and their coworkers and the NFL scouts’ coworkers) should check out:
Arguably the biggest moment of the season for him (and one of the most enjoyable moments of his career) was when Gill-Howard managed to snag an interception against the Kent State Golden Flashes and then hauled it 55 yards back down the field for a touchdown.
Gill-Howard managed to rack up four tackles in that game (three of which were solo tackles) and then also had 0.5 sacks against Kent State. But with how quickly that game got out of hand, he was able to rest for much of it.
One of the most impressive stat lines that he put together really didn’t have much to do with an abundance of tackles, but rather it’s the fact that he had three solo tackles on the road against the Utah Utes in what was a low-scoring affair for much of the matchup before the Red Raiders ended up pulling away.
In total, in his career at Northern Illinois and in Lubbock, Gill-Howard managed to rack up 88 combined tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks. Oh, and that one pick six. Not bad for a defensive tackle.
