It feels like the offseason has barely started, but we’re already getting some glimpses at the upcoming 2026 college football season schedules. And the Big 12 isn’t an exception from that. We’ve already started to get a full look at who all the Texas Tech Red Raiders will play this season and when they’ll play this season and where they’ll play this season.
I mean, we don’t have kickoff times, but we do have a schedule for the Texas Tech football team (and also the rest of the Big 12).
And folks are really going to be mad about how easily navigable the 2026 Texas Tech football schedule is going to pan out to be. To be completely frank, there aren’t many truly rigorous challenges for the Red Raiders on the upcoming schedule.
Joey McGuire and the Texas Tech Red Raiders have an incredibly smooth schedule for the 2026 Texas Tech football season
Here’s what the schedule looks like for the Red Raiders:
- September 5 - Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. Abilene Christian Wildcats
- September 12 - Texas Tech Red Raiders at Oregon State Beavers
- September 19 - Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. Houston Cougars
- September 26 - Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. Sam Houston Bearkats
- October 3 - Texas Tech Red Raiders at Colorado Buffaloes
- October 10 - Bye Week
- October 17 - Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. Arizona State Sun Devils
- October 24 - Texas Tech Red Raiders at Cincinnati Bearcats
- October 31 - Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. Arizona Wildcats
- November 7 - Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. West Virginia Mountaineers
- November 14 - Texas Tech Red Raiders at Oklahoma State Cowboys
- November 21 - Texas Tech Red Raiders at Baylor Bears
- November 28 - Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. TCU Horned Frogs
So much of that schedule is so dang manageable, but there are a few interesting elements, including my favorite one: I love the way this schedule ends for Texas Tech and the Big 12.
Given how much of the conference is historically based out of the Lone Star State, I truly, fully love seeing the Red Raiders get a chance to play teams that are here to wrap the season out.
Plus, considering how Oklahoma State has been a longtime member of the conference, I really appreciate the fact that the last three games of this schedule are against teams that Texas Tech has some history against. It just feels right.
