On Saturday afternoon, the Texas Tech Red Raiders will have the opportunity to go out to Orlando, Florida with the goal of coming back to Lubbock with a sixth consecutive win. The Red Raiders are on a hot streak right now, winning their last five games and then going out and winning nine of their last 10 games for Texas Tech.

That feels incredible and noteworthy and also incredibly noteworthy.

In Texas Tech’s 11 a.m. tipoff against the UCF Knights, the Red Raiders will be led by JT Toppin and Christian Anderson, but it’s also possible for the Red Raiders to get the offense rolling in a few different ways.

For example, both Donovan Atwell and Jaylen Petty have demonstrated the ability to get open and drain threes (and they combined for 36 points against the Houston Cougars).

Regardless, this is a matchup where the Red Raiders are trying to make it clear that they can go out and win on the road.

Texas Tech basketball vs UCF preview: Can the Texas Tech Red Raiders get a win in a road test against the UCF Knights?

Which, you know, that might be tricky. Texas Tech is just 2-2 on the road so far this season (which isn’t exactly any sort of ideal road record, to be honest) and on top of that, UCF is 11-2 in home games this year.

Right now, it’s clear that UCF is in a decent spot after getting a three point win over the Arizona State Sun Devils and then they managed to secure a nine-point win over the Colorado Buffaloes.

Admittedly, it’s going to be interesting to see exactly how the Red Raiders do when facing off against the Knights on the road. It’s worth wondering if Texas Tech can maintain its three-point shooting of 39.2 percent while on the road against the Knights. There’s also the fact that Toppin is thriving this season as he’s scored 24 points per game and also averaged 11.4 rebounds per game.

Can Texas Tech continue to keep pace with the Arizona Wildcats in the Big 12 standings? The Red Raiders will need a win against UCF to help keep working in that direction.
