Texas Tech and Oklahoma State get no respect from television networks

By being relegated to playing on ESPN+ Texas Tech and Oklahoma State learn that the Big 12 television partners have no interest in their game this Saturday.

There's no question that Texas Tech football fans always enjoy facing off with Oklahoma State. Last season, the two teams did not play for the first time since 1995 but are set to resume their rivalry this Saturday in Stillwater. That doesn't matter to the Big 12 television partners though as all of them passed on airing the game.

As a result, Tech and Oklahoma State will play on ESPN+ at 2:30 p.m. Central. It will be the first time this year that one of the Red Raiders' Big 12 games has been aired on ESPN's streaming-only platform.

Of course, in week 12, there are a number of games that will impact the suddenly cloudy Big 12 race. Tech and Oklahoma State won't play one of them.

The Red Raiders are all but eliminated from the conference title picture by virtue of their 4-3 conference record. But it is Oklahoma State that is really dragging this matchup down.

The Cowboys will enter this game just 3-7 overall. Also, they are winless in conference play after starting the year 3-0.

It has been quite a shocking season for an OSU team that many people picked to be contenders for the Big 12 title game when the season began. In fact, head coach Mike Gundy's team was picked to finish 3rd in the preseason Big 12 poll.

Thus, the Red Raiders should head to Stillwater expecting to win. OSU has dropped three home games in a row and four of their last five overall losses have been by double digits.

Of course, playing at Oklahoma State hasn't been easy for Tech. Since winning in Stillwater in 2001, Tech has gone just 1-9 in the last ten games of this series that were played at Boone Pickens Stadium.

If there was ever a time for that trend to begin to change it would appear to be this year given the Cowboys' struggles. But even if the Red Raiders are able to come out on top this Saturday, it apparently won't make much noise for people outside of Lubbock and Stillwater.
