Another Big 12 series, another Big 12 series win. Gerry Glasco and his Texas Tech Red Raiders just keep thriving. With a (tight, narrow, and stressful) win on the road in Tempe against the Arizona State Sun Devils on Saturday, Texas Tech has managed to hold on tight to the top spot in the Big 12 standings.

Of course, Texas Tech wasn’t the only Big 12 softball team to go out and win a series. The Oklahoma State Cowgirls managed to handle business against the Baylor Bears while the Arizona Wildcats won once more to keep hold of that No. 2 spot in the Big 12 standings.

Big 12 softball standings update: Here’s how things look in the Big 12 after Texas Tech’s road series win over Arizona State

With the Red Raiders’ road series win over Arizona State, here’s how things look for the Texas Tech softball team (and also the rest of the Big 12 in the Big 12 softball standings this week):

  • Texas Tech Red Raiders - 46-4 overall, 18-2 Big 12
  • Arizona Wildcats - 33-13 overall, 14-6 Big 12
  • Oklahoma State Cowgirls - 33-12 overall, 13-7 Big 12
  • Kansas Jayhawks - 32-16 overall, 13-8 Big 12
  • UCF Knights - 36-13-1 overall, 12-8-1 Big 12
  • Baylor Bears - 27-22 overall, 9-11 Big 12
  • Utah Utes - 32-18-1 overall, 8-12-1 Big 12
  • Arizona State Sun Devils - 35-15 overall, 8-12 Big 12
  • Iowa State Cyclones - 27-21 overall, 8-13 Big 12
  • BYU Cougars - 18-30 overall, 7-14 Big 12
  • Houston Cougars - 20-30 overall, 3-20 Big 12

That four-game gap between Texas Tech and Arizona is holding given that both teams (unsurprisingly) keep winning. Right now, they’re the best two teams in the Big 12 (and it’s clear that the Red Raiders are ahead in that regard).

Oklahoma State and Kansas aren’t that far behind the Wildcats. Like the Arizona softball team, the Cowgirls and Jayhawks managed to both get wins and all three of those teams are fighting for better postseason seeding right now as the regular season is wrapping up.
