The fallout from the AutoZone Liberty Bowl continued on Saturday, a day after the Texas Tech football team fell to Arkansas 39-26 in Memphis. That's because Texas Tech senior safety, CJ Baskerville, is accusing an Arkansas offensive lineman, Fernando Carmona, of intentionally trying to injure him in a post-play pileup.

Saturday on X, Baskerville put up a post that says "There’s no denying that Arkansas played a great game last night, I am not taking that away from them. But #55 Fernando Carmona blatantly stepping on my ankle and pressing down on it on purpose is straight up dirty. Proceeds to say “got your b**** a***.” Do better @RazorbackFB."

What's more, Baskerville included two video clips that appear to support his claim that Carmona intentionally stomped on Baskerville's ankle. It is not a good look for Carmons, a redshirt junior from Las Vegas, Nevada.

There was no flag thrown on the play so Carmona got away with his misdeed. However, it was a dangerous act that could have severely injured Baskerville.

Carmona started nine games for the Razorbacks this season. Along the way, he was twice named the SEC offensive lineman of the week.

Meanwhile, Baskerville was a solid starter for the Red Raiders this fall appearing in 13 games. He made 78 tackles and picked off four passes for the Red Raiders, the second-straight year in which he had 78 tackles.

Against the Razorbacks, Baskerville led Tech with 10 total tackles, seven of the solo variety. Fortunately, he was able to play the entire game after being stepped on by Carmona. Though nothing will come of this incident given that the officials did not catch Carmona in the act, Arkansas or the SEC should take action because there is no place for that type of activity on the football field.
