This week, FOX is bringing its Big Noon Kickoff to Lubbock for the Texas Tech football team's huge game against Colorado. That means that the broadcast team of Rob Stone, Mark Ingram II, Brady Quinn, Urban Meyer, and Matt Leinart will come to the South Plains.
Thursday, Leinart, a former USC quarterback and the 2004 Heisman Trophy winner took to X to ask Texas Tech fans what he should do on his first visit to Lubbock. As you might expect, most of the responses revolved around where he should eat. That included a recommendation from ESPN college basketball analyst Fran Fraschilla who is in Lubbock several times a year for basketball broadcasts.
As for fans wanting to plan their Saturday morning, FOX has released details of how the Big Noon Kickoff show will work.
At 7:30 a.m. Central, fans can arrive for the pregame tailgate show. Then the broadcast begins at 9:00 a.m. At the tailgate, free food will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Fans are of course encouraged to bring signs to the broadcast location. The most creative signs will win prizes including $500 for the sign deemed to be the best. All signs must abide by FOX Sports sign policies.
The fan pit for the broadcast opens when the tailgate show begins. Admission is free and spots are first-come, first-serve. Fans wanting to be close to the broadcast stage are encouraged to show up before the gates open for the tailgate show.
The Red Raiders' game with Colorado is sold out. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. Central and the game will be broadcast nationally on FOX. Hopefully, Leinart has a blast in Lubbock and gets to see a Texas Tech victory in the process.
