Well, it looks like the Cincinnati Bearcats might be dealing with some sour grapes. Weeks after they lost Brendan Sorsby, their former starting quarterback, to the transfer portal and Sorsby ended up in Lubbock to play for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, the Bearcats have apparently decided to sue.
Apparently, the Bearcats seem to believe that they’re owed some money as Sorsby decided to leave them for another team. I don’t know all the ins and outs, all I know is that Mark Schlabach’s report on the whole deal for ESPN notes that Sorsby is alleged to have signed a contract with the Bearcats that would have ended in December of 2026.
And that’s not at all when Sorsby actually ended up leaving Cincinnati. He is, indeed, already playing for a team that is someone other than the Bearcats. And while he’s being sued for $1 million (which is absolutely a lot of money), Sorsby is set to make plenty with Texas Tech due to NIL deals.Â
As a result, it sure looks like Texas Tech fans aren’t all that worried about what Cincinnati wants to do here. It sounds like some Texas Tech fans sure would be okay if the Red Raiders just cut a check to help cover the deal.

And yeah, it really feels like folks in Lubbock aren’t all that worried about this one. Truly, It sounds like they’re just not bothered by the fact that their new starting quarterback might have to pay up after leaving his old team.
But if you consider the amount of money that Sorsby will be making in Lubbock, this doesn't seem like it will be the end of the world for him.
pocket change for TT.

It’ll be interesting to see how this one unfolds. Right now, it sure looks like Texas Tech will be just fine at the end of the day.
