Texas Tech softball fans have absolutely every possible right to be over the moon with how Game 2 of the 2025 Women’s College World Series championship series went. The win over Texas kept the season alive (and the Red Raiders definitely should be thankful for the way NiJaree Canady performed here to make that possible) while also putting Texas Tech in position to be just one win away from claiming a national title.
That’s all that’s left here. One more win. One win over the Texas Longhorns. Just one game and the Red Raiders will be able to head back to Lubbock and celebrate with ease. And that in and of itself is something that we can sit back and enjoy and celebrate a bit.

The Red Raiders are so dang close to claiming a national title. So dang close. There is so much to celebrate in that fact alone. But if Texas Tech could find a way to get one more win? Well then that’s a whole different ballgame. That’s a national title that would be headed back to Lubbock.
One more game. One more win. That's all the Red Raiders need at this point.
