Texas Tech’s Wednesday evening matchup with the Iowa State Cyclones was a disaster in so many ways. There was just so little that actually went right for the Lady Raiders as they came up short against a team they probably should have beaten.

Texas Tech has now lost three of its last four games and really needs to find a way to bounce back down the stretch if the Lady Raiders are going to make a run for the Big 12 title this season.

While there were a number of things that didn’t go Texas Tech’s way against the Cyclones, it’s clear that Sidney Love was phenomenal for the Lady Raiders as she managed to come off the bench and thrive for Texas Tech.

Love was able to keep Texas Tech moving as she very efficiently managed to score 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting (including 2-of-5 from behind the three point line).

And while Iowa State certainly managed to get the best of Texas Tech, it’s worth pointing out how Love did everything she could to elevate the Lady Raiders (such as the four assists and two steals she also recorded).

Go ahead and factor in how Love managed to avoid committing a single turnover and there’s so much to brag about with what she accomplished against Iowa State on Wednesday.

As the margin for error for Texas Tech to have a shot at winning the Big 12 regular season has become essentially non-existent with the recent collection of losses, the Lady Raiders will need for someone to continue to step up and be a spark down the stretch of the season. With Love posting a performance like this against the Cyclones, it sure looks like she’s capable of that.
