While most Texas Tech fans are caught up in the college basketball transfer portal frenzy, head coach Joey McGuire and his football program are also making waves on the recruiting front. In fact, the team has already landed two important 2026 commitments this week and may be on the verge of another massive recruiting win.

This week, Aaron Bradshaw, a 4-star safety from Fort Worth, Texas, trimmed his list of suitors to eight, and the Red Raiders are in that group. Also still in the mix are some heavy-hitters in the college football biosphere, including Texas, LSU, Texas A&M, Missouri, Colorado, TCU, and Houston (the latter of which is far from being on par with the rest of the teams on Bradshaw's list).

According to Sam Spiegelman, a national recruiting analyst for Rivals.com, Bradshaw will announce his decision on April 18. That is a date that Texas Tech fans should circle because Tech is heavily in the mix here.

In fact, there are numerous rumors on Texas Tech message boards that Bradshaw might already be a silent commit to McGuire and his program. Additionally, Rivals.com has a Future-Cast prediction for Bradshaw to pick the Red Raiders.

According to Rivals, Bradshaw is a 4-star prospect. Meanwhile, 247Sports has him listed as a high 3-star recruit.

Regardless of which site one goes with, there is no question that this is a top player in Texas. According to Rivals, he is the No. 49 player in Texas, regardless of position, and the No. 28 safety in the class of 2026.

This would be a huge addition for the Red Raiders, who already have seven high school defensive recruits committed to the current class. However, none of them are safeties, so Bradshaw could fill an important hole in Tech's recruiting haul.

With Bradshaw set to reveal his decision in a week, he could help the Red Raiders continue to build a strong 2026 class. Hopefully, the rumors and the expert predictions are true and he becomes one of the bell cows of McGuire's latest high school haul.
