Joey McGuire, Mack Leftwich, Shiel Wood, and the rest of the Texas Tech Red Raider football team will soon be leaving Lubbock and heading to Arlington, Texas to meet up with the BYU Cougars in a rematch. We’re getting to see the Texas Tech football team compete in the Big 12 championship game for the first time ever, folks.
That’s something to celebrate.
The Red Raiders are 11-1 overall and 8-1 when facing Big 12 teams so far this season. This is a team that legitimately looks like a national title contender right now with the way that it’s performing. And if the Red Raiders manage to handle business against BYU in their rematch? Well, then Texas Tech will have a really, really good spot in the College Football Playoff.
And folks, that is also something to celebrate. Which fits because it looks like Texas Tech football fans are thrilled to see the Red Raiders have a chance to compete in the Big 12 championship game with so much on the line.
Texas Tech football fans react as the Red Raiders are headed to the Big 12 championship game for the first time ever
There’s plenty to celebrate and enjoy here. Texas Tech fans should be over the moon with the way the Red Raiders look right now and with the opportunity that is ahead of them.

And we’ve also got some important questions being asked.
Will Tech be on home or visitor side?

Also, hey, this isn’t specifically a Texas Tech fan thing, but it looks like some BYU fans are working to do some good and they’re attaching it to the Big 12 championship game. So that’s certainly something to pay attention to and potentially support as you’re able.

We are organizing an epic community service drive tied to the Big 12 championship game.
We would love to partner with TT to make it big.
Can I come on your show this week to tell about it?
This is such a cool moment in Texas Tech football history. It’s going to be fascinating to see how it plays out as the Red Raiders and Cougars meet again.
