If you want to get a ticket to go watch the Texas Tech Red Raiders face off against the Kent State Golden Flashes this coming Saturday, you might want to check to see if tickets are still available. It sure looks like tickets to Texas Tech’s second game of the season are going pretty fast as the Red Raiders have announced that they’re getting close to yet another sellout.

Given the way the Red Raiders performed in their season opener, this isn’t all that shocking. This is absolutely a game that Texas Tech should be able to win with relative ease. There’s a pretty significant talent difference between the Red Raiders and the Golden Flashes, just as there was between Texas Tech and Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

So folks who want to see plenty of points from Texas Tech’s offense and an impressive defensive effort from the Red Raiders once again should go ahead and pick up a ticket soon.

Texas Tech is getting close to selling out yet another game after beating up on the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions in Week 1

There really isn’t too much of a downside here. This is a good thing, especially so when looking at things from a big picture point of view.

Yeah, I suppose it can be a little annoying for the fans out there who happen to enjoy getting tickets at affordable prices and being able to enjoy games with crowds around 70 percent capacity. But folks are showing up to Lubbock to support the Red Raiders. People are very much so interested in Texas Tech football.

That’s a good thing.

It’ll be fun to see just how many games the Red Raiders can sellout this season. If they keep winning (and demolishing their opponents in the process), I suspect we’ll see quite a few sellouts along the way.

And that is also a good thing. More fan support creating tough environments for opposing players to be in, increased revenue for the football program, more money flowing for local businesses in Lubbock, and a better, more lively atmosphere at games for families and fans to enjoy. That’s a good thing.
