Though the Texas Tech football program has mostly been lauded this offseason for its 2025 transfer portal class, head coach Joey McGuire and his staff are also putting together a strong 2026 high school signing class. That process continued on Friday when one of the top defensive backs in Texas announced his intention to play for the Red Raiders.
Aaron Bradshaw, a 6-foot-2, 185-pound safety from Fort Worth, Texas announced on social media that he has committed to Texas Tech. This was a development that had been rumored to be coming down the line for a couple of weeks given the relationship Bradshaw and the Tech coaching staff had developed.
Bradshaw picked up his offer from Tech back in January. In addition, he holds offers from Houston, TCU, LSU, Arizona State, Colorado, Michigan State, Missouri, Pittsburgh, SMU, Texas, Texas A&M, West Virginia, and others.

According to 247Sports, Bradshaw is a 3-star recruit who is the No. 37 safety in America and the No. 64 overall player in Texas regardless of position. What's more, Rivals.com rates him a 4-star prospect and the No. 28 player in the Lone Star State.
Either way, this is a massive commitment for McGuire to land. Bradshaw is the latest player to join a sneaky-strong 2026 high school recruiting class in Lubbock.
There are currently ten high school players committed to Tech for 2026. Of that group, eight call the defensive side of the ball home.
Overall, the class is ranked 22nd in the nation and fourth in the Big 12 behind Kansas, Iowa State, and Arizona State.
The Red Raiders are hosting several more recuits this weekend (both of the high school and transfer varieties) as they hold their annual spring game. Thus, Bradshaw's commitment might not be the only good news we get from McGuire's program this weekend.
