Joey McGuire and the Texas Tech Red Raiders sure knew how to bounce back after a rough outing out west in Tempe, Arizona. Following the Red Raiders’ road loss against the Arizona State Sun Devils, Texas Tech rebounded by returning home and steamrolling the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Which I’m sure felt cathartic for the Red Raiders.

Texas Tech looked pretty good on Saturday in the win. Of course, it’s hard for a team to win 42-0 and look mediocre in the process. But, well, the Red Raiders weren’t exactly perfect. They had a few hiccups on offense and still need to get a few things refined on that side of the ball ahead of the upcoming matchup with Kansas State.

Still, Texas Tech looks like a top 15 ranked team. And if you check in with the folks voting on the AP Poll, that’s more or less where they’ve got the 7-1 Red Raiders right now after that dominant win over Oklahoma State.

Texas Tech sits at No. 13 in latest AP Poll Top 25 college football rankings as Red Raiders run right over Oklahoma State

Here’s what the top 25 looks like entering Week 10:

  • Ohio State Buckeyes
  • Indiana Hoosiers
  • Texas A&M Aggies
  • Alabama Crimson Tide
  • Georgia Bulldogs
  • Oregon Ducks
  • Ole Miss Rebels
  • Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
  • Vanderbilt Commodores
  • BYU Cougars
  • Miami Hurricanes
  • Notre Dame Fighting Irish
  • Texas Tech Red Raiders
  • Tennessee Volunteers
  • Virginia Cavaliers
  • Louisville Cardinals
  • Cincinnati Bearcats
  • Oklahoma Sooners
  • Missouri Tigers
  • Texas Longhorns
  • Michigan Wolverines
  • Houston Cougars
  • USC Trojans
  • Utah Utes
  • Memphis Tigers

It feels pretty good to see Texas Tech ranked there at No. 13. Right now, the Red Raiders are in pretty good company and also a pretty solid spot to make a statement on the national level (assuming they can avoid any other sorts of mishaps or losses along the way).

Yes, Texas Tech does have that one four-point loss on its record right now, but the Red Raiders have also managed to beat all of their other opponents by at least 24 points. And that also feels pretty noteworthy, especially as we start examining how teams look getting closer and closer to the College Football Playoff.
