The bats were alive! Texas Tech got exactly what it needed when the Red Raiders managed to get a dominant 11-run win over the Abilene Christian Wildcats in Lubbock. In the process of beating the snot out of ACU, Texas Tech also snapped its three-game losing streak as the Red Raiders are getting set to get back into Big 12 play.

That feels important. It also feels kind of important that the Red Raiders were able to pull together 17 hits en route to scoring 15 runs to beat the Wildcats in eight innings (shoutout to run rule wins that help the Red Raiders).

Again, Texas Tech got exactly what it needed.

Caden Ferraro was the biggest name in Texas Tech’s home win over the Abilene Christian Wildcats. In the five at-bats that Ferraro had on Tuesday, he managed to get four hits (which results in four RBIs) for the Red Raiders. Interestingly enough, two of those hits ended up being home runs.

It’s also worth pointing out that with all of the success that he’s had throughout the year, Ferraro’s batting average is now up to .432 on the season, which feels a little absurd, but we’ll take it.

On the mound, Adam Hayes had another strong day. In 5.2 innings of work Hayes managed to face 25 batters and struck out a trio of them. He did give up a half-dozen hits, but Hayes only yielded 3 earned runs to ACU.

With the home win over the Wildcats, Texas Tech is now 17-11 overall and 4-5 in Big 12 play. Texas Tech is also 14-3 in Lubbock now. And as the Red Raiders get set to face the Houston Cougars this weekend, it feels good to know that the Texas Tech baseball team can still get some really impressive wins at home this season.
