Look, I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for the college football offseason to be done and over. I’m ready to watch the Texas Tech Red Raiders play some football. I, for one, am very much so excited about what this season might bring.

And I really, really just want this offseason to be wrapped up.

So, when I noticed that the Texas Tech athletics department rolled out a preseason camp trailer for Red Raider fans to check out, I took the first possible chance I had to check it out. Because, well, I’m ready to watch the Red Raiders. I’m ready for football season.

And it was a really solid production featuring some perfect narration for this coming season. It was subtle, calm, and featured the best Friday Night Lights coach. This trailer is something that provided excitement while also still doing so in a way that felt understated.

I appreciate it. A lot.

You should absolutely check this out:

I love the look behind the scenes at what goes into preparing for a season. Seeing that sort of work, including the folks preparing facilities and equipment, is such an underrated thing that few people actually think about. Or if they’re thinking about it, they’re not thinking about the amount of time and effort that is required to make a college football season possible.

And that’s before you even get to the coaching staff and the players and their loved ones.

So yeah, this video rocks. It’s a great way to start building excitement among fans without taking a frantic-paced, over the top sort of approach. On top of that, Texas Tech leaned into the West Texas sort of identity in a way that felt natural. I’m here for it.
