Something tells me that Texas Tech softball fans are going to be pretty thrilled with the way the Red Raiders performed early Thursday afternoon against the likes of the Baylor Bears. When the No. 1 seed Red Raiders met up with the No. 8 seed Bears after handling Baylor in a series over the past weekend, Texas Tech wound up blanking Baylor with a 7-0 victory in the Big 12 softball tournament.

A couple of Mia Williams solo shot home runs and a dominant outing by NiJaree Canady really helped propel Texas Tech to this lopsided win over the Bears.

And again, this win comes on the heels of a really solid weekend series against Baylor. The Red Raiders weren’t perfect over the weekend, they did stumble and lose in last Friday’s game 2 matchup, but the final game of the regular season for Texas Tech included a perfect game from Canady against Baylor.

That, understandably, excited Texas Tech fans as the regular season wrapped up.

And today’s 10-hit, 7-0 shutout win over the Bears was met with a similar sort of enthusiasm from Texas Tech fans. Here’s what Red Raider softball fans had to say on social media about the lopsided win over the struggling Baylor Bears.

With this sort of win, along with the recent success against the Bears, some Texas Tech fans apparently have a pretty important question.

Okay, well, there’s another important question out there as well.

Gerry Glasco and the Red Raiders should be proud of the way that they performed in this matchup. It sure sounds like Texas Tech fans are happy with things right now.

Now all Texas Tech needs to do is beat the Kansas Jayhawks and then the Red Raiders will be advancing on to compete for the conference tournament championship yet again after winning the Big 12 tournament a season ago.
