Texas Tech soccer plays for Big 12 title tonight

The No. 14 Texas Tech soccer team has a huge opportunity tonight. Taking on BYU in the regular-season finale, the Red Raiders can wrap up a share of the Big 12 title with a win.

Unbeaten in their last 13 games, the Red Raiders are tied with TCU atop the Big 12 standings entering Friday. If both teams win tonight, the teams will share the league crown.

BYU enters the match 7-5-5 overall and 5-2-3 in Big 12 play. First touch tonight is at 7 p.m. at the John Walker Soccer Complex in Lubbock.

Texas Tech volleyball wins on the road

Thursday night, the Texas Tech volleyball team ended its four-match losing streak with a road win at Cincinnati. The five-set win was just the second conference win of the season for the Red Raiders.

Moving back to .500 on the season, Tech is now 10-10 overall and 2-6 in Big 12 action. Brynn Williams led the way with a double-double. She had 13 kills and 13 digs to go along with three blocks for her second double-double of the year.

The Red Raiders will look to pick up their second straight win Saturday at West Virginia. On the year, the Mountaineers are just 8-11 overall and 2-6 in Big 12 play so that game is an opportunity for Texas Tech to pick up another conference win.

Mahomes uniforms now in NCAA video game

Texas Tech football fans who enjoy the NCAA College Football '25 video game from EA Sports will be glad to know a new update has been released. Included in that update are the new Patrick Mahomes brand "Galvanized" uniforms.

Revealed earlier this month, the grey uniforms featuring galvanized-looking numbers and logos will also sport the Mahomes brand logo on the front of the jersey. They will be debuted when the Red Raiders take on Colorado in Lubbock on November 9. And now, they are in the college football video game as well.

Texas Tech football unveils new adidas uniform combination for TCU game

Speaking of uniforms, the Texas Tech football team unveiled a classic look for Saturday's game against TCU in Fort Worth. The Red Raiders will wear black helmets, white jerseys, and red pants which is a look that the Red Raiders used to wear regularly on the road in the Southwest Conference years.

This is a fitting uniform combination for the game with TCU as the in-state rivalry is a throwback to the days of the Southwest Conference. Hopefully, this look will bring the Red Raiders luck since Tech has not won in Fort Worth since 2018.

Tech softball takes down LCU in fall ball contest

Finally, those excited about Texas Tech softball got another preview of the new-look Red Raiders on Thursday night. Continuing their fall ball schedule, Tech took down LCU 17-1 in a 10-inning contest.

Star pitcher NiJaree Canady, this offseason's big-ticket addition who led Stanford to the College World Series last season was dominant in the circle. Pitching five innings, she struck out nine batters and allowed only one batter to reach base on a hit-by-pitch.

Next, the Red Raiders and the Chaps will meet again on Thursday, October 31 at 6:30 pm. The game will be played at LCU.
