Every player who aspires to have an NFL career wants to have the opportunity to showcase his skills at the NFL Combine. However, not every NFL hopeful gets that opportunity. Fortunately, one player who will be performing at the combine this year is Texas Tech tight end Jalin Conyers.

Recently, Conyers posted on X that he has been invited to the league's annual on-field job interview where he will have the chance to impress scouts, coaches, and executives from every franchise. This is a tremendous opportunity and one that the Gruver, Texas native will likely make the most of given his immense athletic ability.

For Conyers, the combine will be especially crucial given that he never put up eye-popping numbers at the college level. For his career, which started at Oklahoma and then took him to Arizona State before he came home to Texas Tech in 2024, Conyers caught a total of 104 passes for 1,166 yards and 11 touchdowns.

To put that in perspective, understand that Penn State tight end Tyler Warren, who won the Mackey Award as the nation's top tight end in 2024, caught 104 passes for 1,233 yards and eight scores just this past season alone. That's a world more than Conyers ever posted in a season.

Conyer's best statistical season came in 2022 for the Sun Devils. That year, he caught 38 passes for 422 yards, both career-highs. He also had five touchdown catches, a number that he equaled this past season.

In his lone season as a Red Raider, Conyers caught 30 passes (the same number of passes he caught in 2023) for 320 yards. However, everyone who paid attention to the Texas Tech offense could see Conyers' versatility and athleticism on display nearly every Saturday.

At 6-foot-4 and 250 pounds, he runs as well as many wide receivers while also possessing the size and strength needed to be a solid blocker. Thus, NFL teams want to see more of Conyers.

He is participating in this week's East-West Shrine Bowl all-star game where he will have a chance to impress NFL personnel in a game situation. Now, he'll also have the chance to turn heads at the NFL Combine which runs February 27-March 2.
