Well folks, we officially have the initial availability reports for the Saturday afternoon Big 12 basketball games. As the Texas Tech Red Raiders and the UCF Knights get set to meet up to start Saturday’s slate of Big 12 basketball games, there’s really not too much to worry about on the injury front.
To be completely frank, it’s not like the Red Raiders are dealing with any major surprises as they get set to play in Orlando. That said, Grant McCasland and the Texas Tech coaching staff are without a freshman forward the UCF Knights do have one player out and another listed as doubtful.
For Texas Tech, LaTrell Hoover is listed as out, which really isn’t going to have an impact on the rotation for the Red Raiders against the Knights. More or less, Texas Tech is set to go out and compete against the Knights without too many real concerns as players have steadily returned from injury over the past couple weeks.
Big 12 men’s basketball availability report: Which players are out as Texas Tech takes on the UCF Knights in Orlando?
As for the Knights, I’m really not sure how much UCF will be missing their two players who are on the injury report.
It looks like UCF will be without Tanner Jones and they might also be missing Jeremy Foumena. So far this season, Foumena has been averaging 4.4 points per game and 2.7 rebounds per game when he’s been on the court.
That might thin out the front court depth a bit, but I don’t think it’s a complete and total dealbreaker for the Knights and their game plan as they get set to face off against Texas Tech. I could be wrong though.
With this game, Texas Tech seems to be healthy at the right time as the conference championship push and resume building ahead of the postseason get set to happen. It doesn’t seem like there are going to be any sort of major shakeups based on the initial injury report. We’ll see what things are actually like when we get to tip off.
