Stick with us 🤞
Texas Tech enters the matchup 2-0 with blowout wins over Arkansas Pine-Bluff, 67-7 in Week 1, and Kent State, 62-14 in Week 2. The Red Raiders have significant expectations this season after a major offesason spending spree that attracted the No. 1 Transfer Portal class in the country and this Week 3 matchup with Oregon State was the only real test for Joey McGuire's revamped roster before opening Big 12 play with Utah in Salt Lake City next week Saturday.
Texas Tech vs. Oregon State Week 3 game status:
The game is expected to be played at some point today. It is the first matchup between the two programs since 1959. Both teams have touched the ball so far in the first quarter of play.
Texas Tech quarterback Behren Morton is 1-for-1 passing for six yards, while Oregon State’s Maalik Murphy is 1-for-2 for six yards. The score is still 0-0 midway through the first quarter. Neither side has gained a first down, as Oregon State was forced to punt the ball away on its first possession, and the Red Raiders' first opportunity on offense was cut short by the electricity in the air.
The delay for a lightning strike in the area is 30 minutes, plus 15 minutes for the two sides to warm back up before returning to the field.
Update from Jones AT&T Stadium amid lightning delay
