Saturday, the Texas Tech football team moved to 8-4 on the year by closing out the regular season with a 52-15 drubbing of West Virginia. It was arguably the most dominant performance of the year for Texas Tech which won eight regular-season games for the first time since 2009.
What's more, head coach Joey McGuire picked up his second eight-win season in his third year on the job. That's already equal to the number of eight-win seasons that Spike Dykes had in his entire Texas Tech career.
After a first quarter that ended with Tech up 6-3, the Red Raiders managed to blow the game open in the second quarter. Hanging 29 points on the board in that quarter, the Red Raiders scored their most second-quarter points of the season coming up just six points shy of the 35 they posted in the second quarter of the game against North Texas in week three.
Tahj Brooks was again dominant with 188 yards and 3 TDs on the ground. What's more, on the afternoon he surpassed the 5,000-yard mark in terms of career total yardage.
Meanwhile, senior wide receiver Josh Kelly topped the 1,000-yard mark for the season after catching nine passes for 150 yards. It was also his final game at home as a Red Raider.
On defense, the star of the day was senior safety CJ Baskerville. Making eight tackles, he also had one of the most spectacular interceptions by a Red Raider in recent memory.
So as you might expect with such a huge win, the vibe surrounding this win is all sunshine and roses. That is evident by looking at the social media posts from around Raiderland. Here are some of the best.

I know Texas Tech fans want to be competing for conference titles now, but McGuire is building the foundation for them to consistently do that

Considering Penn State only beat WVU by 22 points and only scored 34. Hypothetically Texas Tech would be at least 7-1 in the Big 10
