The Kansas Jayhawks have an interesting opportunity up ahead of them. Kansas is set to meet up with the Utah Utes in a game that could lead to bowl eligibility for a KU team that hasn’t exactly met its full potential in recent games.
This is also a matchup that could play into the possibility of the Utes making it to Arlington to compete in the Big 12 conference championship game. Of course, that would also require some pretty big blunders on the part of the Texas Tech Red Raiders, BYU Cougars, and Arizona Wildcats during Week 14 (we’ll see what actually happens).
It’s worth noting that Texas Tech has managed to get incredibly impressive wins against both of these teams. The Red Raiders beat Utah on the road in Salt Lake City early on in the season and then managed to crush Kansas in Lubbock about halfway through the year.
And now those two teams are set to meet.

Why is this Big 12 game interesting for Texas Tech fans?
There’s really not much in this game that will really impact the Red Raiders. Theoretically speaking, there’s a chance that the Utah Utes could end up in a tie with Texas Tech and BYU if both the Red Raiders and the Cougars lost this weekend and Utah won against Kansas, but the chances of that seems pretty slim right now.
So, what makes this game interesting?
I’m planning on tuning in to see if the Jayhawks are capable of pulling off an unlikely upset against Utah and securing bowl eligibility. That’s the most interesting storyline attached to this game that also feels like it’s in the realm of possibility (even if it’s incredibly unlikely).
