When Lee Hunter started his college career with the UCF Knights, he was set to compete in the American Athletic Conference. And then one season later, UCF ended up in the Big 12. And then a couple years after that, Hunter made his way to Lubbock and got the chance to compete for a College Football Playoff contender.

It’s been quite the wild ride for Hunter and he’s thrived at every step of his journey. Which that was more than evident as he played a very vital role for the Texas Tech Red Raiders in jamming up opposing offensive lines on a very regular basis.

And with the NFL Draft upon us, and Hunter vying for a spot at the next level, the Texas Tech football program put together a highlight reel of Hunter’s best plays from this past season.

Here’s the plays that made Texas Tech’s Lee Hunter one of the most impressive defensive linemen in the country this past season

If you’re not already familiar with how impressive Lee Hunter can be, then you should go ahead and take a few moments to check out this highlight reel that the Texas Tech Red Raiders put together ahead of the upcoming NFL Draft.

While the Orange Bowl was a mess for the Red Raiders, that College Football Playoff matchup with the Oregon Ducks was one of the most impressive and productive performances for Hunter as he racked up seven tackles. He showed up on the biggest stage.

And that proved true in the Big 12 Championship Game against the BYU Cougars, when he managed to help hold BYU to just 67 rushing yards all while racking up four combined tackles. He proved he could disrupt talented offensive lines and jammed up opponents on a very regular basis.

While he wasn’t with the Red Raiders for very long, Hunter did have an impact. In total, he managed to accumulate 41 combined tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks as a Red Raider. That’s not bad for one season of work.

And now he’s ending his college career (after having split it between the UCF Knights and the Texas Tech Red Raiders) with totals of 172 combined tackles, 32 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks.
