While Joey McGuire and the Texas Tech Red Raiders get to take a bit of a restful weekend thanks to their second bye week during Week 13, that doesn't mean that there isn’t some college football that Texas Tech fans should check out.

In fact, with the way the college football season is going (especially in the Big 12), there’s a handful of games that will be absolutely interesting to watch for Texas Tech football fans who are curious about how things will shake out for the Big 12 championship game.

But beyond that, there’s also just a handful of games that are interesting to keep up with. So, here are three must-watch Big 12 games that Texas Tech fans should check out this weekend.

BYU Cougars vs. Cincinnati Bearcats

This is the game of the week in the Big 12 this week. Truly it is. The BYU Cougars are trying to lock up a spot in the Big 12 championship game. Weirdly enough, the Cincinnati Bearcats are trying to do exactly the same sort of thing.

Things are a bit convoluted in the Big 12 this season, but these two have relatively straightforward paths to getting to the Big 12 championship game (though Cincinnati does need a good bit of help). Still, if the Bearcats can get a win here, their chances of getting to the Big 12 title game get a lot better.

FOX. 7 p.m. Make sure you watch it.

Kansas State Wildcats vs. Utah Utes

Things would really have to get weird for the Utah Utes to be able to get to the Big 12 championship game. I mean, truly bizarre types of stuff would have to happen. So, that’s one reason to check in on this game. But another is how weird of a team the Kansas State Wildcats have been this season.

This is a team that struggled against the likes of Oklahoma State and North Dakota as well as suffered losses against Army, Arizona, and Baylor. This is also a team that has managed to beat UCF, TCU, and Kansas convincingly.

Which K-State team will show up as the Wildcats try to secure a bowl game and get an upset win to make this season seem a bit better? Check in to ESPN2 at 3 p.m.

Arizona State Sun Devils vs. Colorado Buffaloes

Okay, look, I don’t think this one is really going to have all that great of an impact on the Big 12 standings or anything along those lines. Still, I think this is a game to keep up with and the biggest reason for that is because Arizona State keeps playing in these sort of weirdly close games and it doesn’t seem to matter who they’re playing.

The Sun Devils have a four-point loss to 5-6 Mississippi State, a three-point win vs. 5-5 Baylor, a three-point win vs. 6-4 TCU, a four-point win vs. 10-1 Texas Tech, an eight-point loss vs. 8-2 Houston, a five-point win vs. 6-4 Iowa State, and a two-point win vs. 4-7 West Virginia.

ESPN2 at 7 p.m. It’s worth checking out, in my opinion.
